Rampant *******ion at Cell C
It appears Cell C is continuing to play fast and loose with the facts. What started out as a ********** transaction has now morphed into a full-blown ******ion racket . As I mentioned previously, Cell C called to remind me that my contract upgrade was due. I went into the walk-in center to do just that. They informed me the previous special of R99 was no longer available and that they have a R149 which quickly became R151 a little while later. I accepted their terms and conditions and the SIM was activated 2 hours later. This was a Friday and there was nothing untoward. However, by Monday my SIM card stopped working/or was blocked for no reason. After about 4 weeks of back and forth, whereby I was issued no less than 4 different SIM cards they recommended I sign up for a R199 package. And luckily, I kept all the SIM cards they kept giving me knowing full well they weren't good. Even more astonishing I had to give up my old cellphone number. I have done upgrades before but this was entirely new to me. They also suggested that this was just a temporary measure and that they were going to send technicians to physically inspect coverage in my area despite their map coverage showing a strong signal(on Richard Maponya's computer). After signing on to a R199 my phone was activated and was so relieved after 4 weeks of frustrations. Next thing I saw was a R774 debit order going off on the 17th of July 2018. I immediately alerted them because I genuinely thought they made an honest mistake. They did acknowledge and promise to look into the matter but after about a month they hit me with R222 the 16th of September, followed by R301 October 2016 and ditto 16th of November. This whilst promising to look into my situation. It finally downed on me that they as long as they're collecting it's not working just fine for them. After about 8 months I realized this was no accident but an orchestrated move on the part of Cell C, they were profiting off the back and forth. They were stringing me along so they could picking my pocket, pretty neat trick if you ask me.If a private person had done such they would probably be in jail by now. They are dishonest as they are *********. They even have the gall to send debt collectors to try and ****** me by threatening to blacklist me if I don't pay up. They are a ces****l of *******ion and I think someone needs to remind Cell C they're not the victim here, they *******ly changed the agreement.
When I reached out for help from hellopeter, they would either feign ignorance of my situation or claim that I'm unreachable, which is demonstrably false coz I still receive calls from them trying to sell me more products. Maybe they should dial me from their sales desk instead. Everything they say is contradicted by the facts.Never seen anything like it. I have renewed both my MTN contracts more than 10 x and not once did I get a bill that I didn't sign for. You don't need to look any further than HELLOPETER to realize how much they have been getting away with. This whole thing is making me sick to my stomach please. The cellphone in question-*** [ incident number ***.]
