Quick to take legal action but slow to pay

Over a year ago I cancelled my Cell C contact as I was no longer able to afford payments and To avoid further arrears. I then made a payment arrangement with Cell C and honored it. My contract was, however, not terminated and I kept being charged for data etc which I did not use. I continued to pay off the arrears and then started receiving calls from legal department stating that Cell C have handed me over to the legal dept. I was so perplexed because if anyone should be handed over to Legal, it’s them. Nonetheless I continued making payments until I recently settled the full arrears and mistakenly paid an additional R1200 toward the arrears. Subsequently, I have requested a refund for almost 3 months but the only feedback I’ve received is: ‘case still pending’. My case number is: ***, and I am fed up of calling back and fourth for a refund. When I was late with my payments all hell broke loose, yet they are unable to action a simple thing like grant a customer their refund. This is absolutely pathetic, and is in fact not the first time that I have heard of such awful customer service from Cell C. I’m so glad that I will not be using the anymore, but demand my refund because, firstly, it’s mine and secondly I won’t let it go for the unnecessary stress they have caused me!
