Promised a phone but there was no stock

I had a telesales consultant call me. I fail to remember his name unfortunately. He said he was from Cell C Direct. I had two months to go before my upgrade became official and he said if I stayed with Cell C I could get an upgrade now. He asked me what phone I was interested in? I said the iPhone 5. He gave me an incredible deal but did say that the package was popular and he couldn't 'say when I could expect delivery. That did make me worry a bit that he couldn't even give me an estimation of when the phone would arrive? I did receive an email contract stating I would receive this particular phone, and it showed the agreed monthly repayments. Which made me think it was all ok? Over a month later I called Cell C. They have informed me there is no such phone in stock and they needed to cancel my contract. If I hadn't phoned when would someone even inform me of this? I am without doubt leaving Cell C as this is the not the first time I have been messed around by them. I have been told this complaint will be escalated which I sincerely hope is the case. Not for me as I'm leaving, but for anyone else that may be conned like this
