Port Reversal Nightmare

In December 2021 I ported from Cell C to MTN but because it looked like the MTN SIM card wasn’t rica’ed properly 4 hours before the port went through I contacted Cell C on Facebook to stop the port. They read the message but didn’t reply. My number got Rica Barred on MTN and was unusable. I contacted Cell C about 5-10 times asking them to reverse the port and they couldn’t even though MTN already completed the reversal on their side. I bought about 3 unrica’ed starter packs in total because they instructed me to buy a starter pack. I bought a starter pack. It didn’t work as instructed by the porting department agent. I bought another 2 starter packs and they porting department said those 2 also didn’t want to work. Eventually after 1 month MTN deactivated the number and they said the only way to get the number back was to complete the reversal on Cell C’s side,After hearing that I bought the starter packs and none of them worked as I mentioned. The number doesn’t exist on Cell C or MTN now and the number I had was very special because it had 786 in it and was easy to remember. I am thinking of moving all my Cell C numbers to Vodacom and MTN because of this unpleasant experience. I gave up on getting this issue resolved and I am just posting this review to warn people about Cell C’s customer service and reversal process. With VodaCom if you ported to MTN and got Rica Barred VodaCom would reverse the port onto the old SIM card without the need of purchasing a new one. I’m lucky that number wasn’t my personal number because if that was the case I would have been struggling until now. This already happened in November 2021 and it never got resolved. I’m just putting this out here and I gave up on resolving the issue so I won’t need assistance because when I wrote another review in December and I was promised a call but never received any call. The number included in the Hello Peter additional information tab is the number I lost thanks to Cell C not being able to reverse a port. Ending this review here.
