Port out of Cell C to Rain. Initiated 6 Nov 2024 - Cell C.

Sequence of events:-

Called Cell C customer service number on 7 Oct 2024 to cancel the 2 x Cell C contracts (post paid). Contract end was 7 Nov 2024. Both contracts were past their 2 year cycle when the cancellation was initiated. The Consultant was made aware of the fact that the numbers would be ported. -Port request was initiated 6 Nov 2024 via the RainGo log-in page. --2 x Port requests form Rain received via SMS. --SMS received from Cell C of these request. OTPs provided back to Cell C for both. Cell C confirmed via SMS receipt of both the OTPs. -Both Cell C post paid contracts were ended on 7 Nov 2024, and Cell C changed these to pre-paid contracts, note this was not in my request of 7 Oct 2024, neither communicated by the consultant. The pre-paid contracts have zero balances and no roaming. Then no more communication from Cell C regarding the status (success / failure) was received. Cell C web app was used on 8 & 9 Nov to understand the porting issue. I made it clear in the comms (web app, email and call) that my ZA number does not work. Similarly an email was also sent for the Case#. Cell C keep sending sms's that they were not able to reach me, this after I made it clear to them via the web app, that my ZA number has no roaming, but whatsapp works. My out of country (non-ZA) mobile number was shared. Cell C customer service was also called on 8 & 9 Nov from my out of country (non-ZA) mobile to try and resolve. Calling Cell C, I was not able to get them to call back or send a written communication and advise what needs to be done to resolve this. All the consultants do with the issue is advising it will or was escalated, but with no follow thru. The only thing I hear is "we are very sorry to hear" when any of the usable communication channels are used.

I reiterate that I am only reachable:-
-via mobile on my (non-ZA) mobile number that was shared, or
-via whatsapp on my ZA mobile number due to the availability of wifi, or
-if you prefer to engage directly via email.
