Poor quality simcards
Simcard crashed after a cellphone software update!! This is a very poor quality product! This is the second simcard within two months that did this..

SIM cards are after all electrical components and as such are prone to damage.
This could be due to electric shock from the battery, static electricity discharge or even corrosion if exposed to humidity.
