PERSONAL INFORMATION GIVEN TO THIRD PARTY WITHOUT CONSENT & ARROGANT CALL CENTER AGENT

I received a call from someone from a company called the “The product shop” on Thursday 11-04 the agent said his name was Alwin and said that he is calling on behalf of Cellc, the agent advised me that I have an insurance package that was included in my contract and as a valued customer I qualify for a discount of R239 from my contract, however I have never taken out an insurance and I was advised that any insurance is included in my actual contract. He than asked me to confirm my details which he read out and I had to confirm (name, surname, & the first 6 digits of my ID number) when I refused and told him I will speak to Cellc directly he became arrogant. I did not confirm anything to him as I was skeptical about the call, I asked him to confirm my cellphone contract details and he provided everything correctly to me as far as going to tell me the model of my phone and at which store I took my contract.

When I advised him that I will speak to Cellc directly and take up the package In store he became aggressive and tried to persuade me to take the deal I said not and told him he is being arrogant and he began shouting and hung up the phone.

I spoke to someone who had a similar issue and advise me that there information was sold and used **********ly by someone at Cellc.

My phone question is how does a third party have access to my details without my consent? When I took out my contract I did not give authorisation for this!

Furthermore I would like to know if this company works for CellC and I expect a proper answer not a random acknowledgment!!
