Paying for data you cannot use
My husband has had a month to month contract with cell c for a while now. When he initially went to cancel his old contract, they had offered him this data package for R79 on a month to month basis.
Fast forward to 2 months ago when my husband had tried to use the data he was paying for. No network... We called in, they asked him to roam on a different network which he tried, still nothing. On our last attempt, he was advised to use cell c as a network provider again. Guess what... still nothing!
On speaking to an call centre agent Monday (call was made from a cell c store), he had specifically asked them to cancel the contract because he had not been able to use the benefit he was paying for. The agent told him that he needed to give them 30 days notice. In other words, make two more payments before the contract is officially cancelled.
Now I've had my own bad experience with cell c so I know exactly what frustration my husband is now experiencing.
Long story short, one does not have to cancel a month to month contract in 30 days. He's paid for 60 days and couldn't use what he was paying for so... sort it out!

There is a reason why I listed both my husbands and my contact details. He works at a financial institution and cannot answer his phone at any time. He can be contacted before 9am in the morning and then again after 5pm in the evening.
Should you not get hold of him, please call myself.
