Paying for a device I've already paid for
I've been paying a contract for just over two years. I get calls and e-mails from Sales Consultants on a daily basis telling me how my contract is outdated and how they'd suggest that I upgrade.
Have I not paid for the device after 2 years? If I'm still making use of the minutes, data and sms's I receive every month, why am I then billed for this as well as the device?
I do not want to upgrade my device and the packages I am being offered is not attractive at all.
I just want them to refund any additional costs I have paid for the device after my 24 months ended and then remove all future device costs which they'll probably still keep charging me for.

Please note that we can assist you with cancelling your contract however no refund is due.
Referring to the subscriber agreement terms and conditions; if the contract is not cancelled during the Initial Contract Period or on expiry of the Initial Contract Period and is not renewed, then the contract will run for the Initial Contract Period and then on a month-to-month basis until you or we terminate the contract by giving 20 Working Days’ written notice, or notice in any other
recordable form, to cancel this Agreement.

So what you are saying is that I will have to keep paying for the device and whatever contract benefits I receive regardless of whether or not the device has already been paid for?
A colleague of mine requested to have the devices amount removed from his still on-going contract and this was done hassle free. Or do the same rules not apply to everybody? Maybe I should speak to the same consultant he spoke to in order for me to have this fee removed.
