Pathetic Service
Having been a client of Cell C for a very very long time, I decided to cancel my data plan as I no longer require it. Yesterday I contacted the customer service line, but had to be transferred twice before ending up at the right department. I spoke to Sylvia who pitched me 5/6 different options in order to retain me. I practiced a lot of patience and I politely declined each time, however when it got to the 4th pitch it felt as if Cell C didn't want to cancel my service. At this point I made my intentions very clear that I do not want to renew any contract at all, and that we should just go ahead with the cancelation. The agent read some T&Cs but then decided to punt again some ridiculous option mid speech. At one point it sounded as if the agent was entertained by the this whole conversation. I surely hope this is not the way clients get treated when doing cancelations. It was a frustrating, unprofessional and unpleasant experience. The kicker for me was that even though I gave 1 months notice and already having my account debited, I was told my last debit would be in September by which the contract would be terminated. To my understanding, I'm paying for the month ahead and not for the month I am in right now. I'm very glad that I'm cutting ties with Cell C because this type of client service is really unacceptable
