Passing the buck

I was ****** last week Thursday and my phone was taken. I got the SIM about 8/9 years ago from a person that handed it out on the street. I called customer care on Friday , but failed the verification process as it wasn't on my name. Customer care advised me to go to a Cell C shop to verify my details , which I did on Saturday. The consultant wasn't able to assist me and said I must contact customer care again. When I called customer care I was advised that my number is blocked for a month because I tried 3 times on Friday. I have been using the number for 8/9 years without problems. How can Cell C hand out simcards without verifying the details of the person. It seems like a way to get customers and I lost a lot of data and info that was on that SIM. I hope that this matter can be resolved soon , otherwise I will be forced to lodge a formal complaint with ICASA. The service I received from Cell C thusfar is unacceptable and pathetic.
