Overcharging cellular Contract(*****ING MY MONEY)

I have Been a loyal Cell c customer for a number of years. I am very disappointed with what cell c has done.

I signed a contract with Cell C in August of 2015, from that date until December 2016 I had been paying an amount of R588.99 pm, suddenly come January of 2017 I am being charged R599.99, an increase off R11. To be clear the contract I signed is a closed line i.e. no possible out of bundle spend. I called the call centre (140) they couldn’t help me; I was brushed off to cell c head office, there I was told that there have been price increases. To be frank that’s utter *******. I signed a contract with cell c knowing I’d be paying R588.99 for 24 months. Now you are telling me you can increase what you are charging me at will? That is just crazy. What is the meaning of a contract? It’s a legal binding document that cannot be amended by one or the other contracted parties at will without consensus from both parties. In essence CELL C IS *****ING MY HARD EARED MONEY. All I want is the company to stick to what they agreed upon, they render a service and I pay for it, not that they charge me what they want when they want. Cell C, please have some dignity and treat your customers with respect.

The price increase came into effect on the 1st of February 2017 and in terms of your subscriber agreement, Cell C has the option of varying any of its charges from time to time by means of publishing an amended Tariff Plan and by informing you in writing. Communication (SMS ) were sent on the 22nd December 2016 notifying customers about the changes.

Reviewer Update

You may justify it all you want, I asked your consultants when singing my contact if the amount I’d be paying for 24 months would be fixed i.e. R588.99. the consultant said yes the amount would be fixed. If the consultant had said the amount we charge you might change in future as we see fit then I would not have signed the contract. Needless to say once me and my wife’s contacts are done we will no longer be doing business with cell c.
