Outstanding balance on a closed account

I have been unable to rectify an issue that shows I have an outstanding balance on an account I have closed and paid up, since June 2020. Now this is having a negative effect on my credit score. No one has been able to help me, and I am just being transferred from department to department and was given an email address that doesn't work. Please contact me asap
