Out of Bundle Limit exceeded; Poor signal, almost as poor as the service

Due to the promise of LTE-A coverage in my area, I initiated a contract with Cell C on the 26th of June 2017.

During the setup of my contract, I was assured that my out of bundle limit will be set to R50. I tripple checked with the consultant at the time, if I would be able to purchase more data after this limit is reached, or would I be completely cut off. The person assured me that it will cut off after R50 (out of bundle data rates) is used.

I was given notice that I would have a week of cancelling the contract after delivery, should the package not be satisfactory.

After receiving the router and sim card on the 28th of June, my troubles with network coverage started. On the admin panel, the signal is clearly stated as LTE 1 bar, but my download speed drops to 23kbps for hours at a time. Needless to say, I spent most of the week trying to explain this to the "Technical" department, indicating that the issue is not the router, but the signal, and it's definitely not as advertised.

The "Technical" support team continuously provided lackluster solutions, such as flashing the Firmware of the router (you would expect with a brand new product this would not be necessary), or enabling Roaming on the router (even if this is not possible, I will NOT incurr ridiculous additional charges for roaming because you can't understand the problem).

I advised each "Technical" personel that the solution would either involve the Cell Tower, or a signal booster. Finally I reached a consultant that was able to arrange technicians to investigate the network problems in my area, yes even this was a struggle, and this was only achieved 5 days after I received the router. On day 7, I received a call from Cell C, stating that the technicians concluded with the result that the tower will need to be upgraded, as the traffic causes package loss. I asked the lady to give me a timeframe, as I would not wait for 2 years for this to be done, and would rather cancel the contract instead of wasting my money on something I can't use. She said she would contact me after finding out, that day.

I had to call back the next day, because obviously, service is not on the priority list for Cell C. The lady told me that the technicians were not able to stipulate a time frame for the tower upgrade. I asked to be put through to the "Technical" department once more, where I was told, in order to qualify for a signal booster, I need to spend at least R7000 a month on Cell C. This wasn't mentioned on any of the previous calls, so I asked to be put through to Cancellations, but the call got cut off (nice network). I tried again, but was told I will be required to pay for the cancellation, as it was past the cut off time???

Well great, I continued with the poor service for a month, and BOOM, debit order of R1048... I called customer care (yes surely helps, right) and received a pdf statement. Turns out, my limit on out of bundle rates were never app****, But that's not the worst of it, I get a R1048 bill, for 2 days of usage, IN JUNE, for 4 GB. Please tell me if it's possible to use 4GB in 2 days, on a connection with 23kbps... Regardless of this, I pay a full month's subscription, for 2 days... I thought there were pro-rata rates?

After a struggle, once again, with customer care, we managed to get to no resolution with the bill, not to mention the network issues. I received a statement for July, with the same result, out of bundle limit not set, again required to pay R1000 for this level of satisfaction.

I want my contract cancelled, honestly I regret moving over to Cell C. And if it wasn't for the purposeful delay in resolving my first issue, I wouldn't have to pay a cancellation fee in the first place.
