I went to the Cell C store on Sunday 22nd May to change from Virgin to Cell C, thinking that Cell C had differentiated themselves in terms of service delivery . The number porting initially went well until I lost connectivity. I have a Standard Bank transaction as proof of payment to Cell C for airtime and Cell C informs me that they never received my payment because Virgin never ported the number prior to my payment. Cell C, I really am not concerned about the back-end systems. In terms of the Consumer Protection Act, I have proof of payment to Cell C and Cell C therefore owes me R300 airtime. Astounding, Cell C - you would forego the opportunity to win over a new customer by denying a liability for R300. How will you ever win market share from Vodacom and MTN? Certainly, not like this! So much for the CEO's statement about adding value.
