non-protection of customer identity

<p>on the 26 May 2016, I called cell c with a sales person from old mutual as I need to apply for financing. My previous account with cell c is on ITC but when we called cell c and gave them my ID number and a reference number that appear on the ITC, two different consultants confirmed that the both the ID and reference number do not belong to me but to someone else, i then asked them to send me an email that states this so that my name and profile could be updared on ITC, the one consultant said she would but to this day she has not while the other consultant said he cannot. The matter is frustrating as this ID number should be a personal matter and now there is a company select online that wants me to pay that contract off. I do not see why one has to pay for a contract that is not in my name regardless of a mistake that may have happened on cell c's part because i feel that my identity is compromised a great deal, as well as my credit scoring on ITC because of the installment it shows on ITC as well that affects my affordability. Again there is another contract of cell that i have been paying R54.99 for some time now, i do not see why when stating my ID number cell c fails to pick this one up as well. I really need this matter resolved as it is affecting my credit life so badly. </p>
