My SIM was out my phont Dec/Jan and yet R883?!

I was out of the country with another SIM in my card 95% of the time - with data off and yet I get back to a bill of R883. Something is definitely not working at Cell C as I just took a data bundle and made a huge effort to strategize to keep my bill down. I own my phone so this is NOT including phone. Plus I was away... Really Cell C something feels dishonest
