Load false info on my Credit Record and couldn't bother to properly remove it

I have never held an account with Cell C and yet they somehow got hold of my ID number and used it on a sim swop that eventually led to them listing a non-payment account on my credit records. They further told me to do an affidavit that ***** had taken place for them to be able to investigate why they listed adverse information on my name, only to later tell me that it was not *****, but an error in a sim swap. After many follow ups and being ignored by the company who caused damage to my credit record (resulting in delays to getting a home loan) they said that it had been corrected. A year later I find out that they never removed the faulty listing with the credit bureaus, but only changed it to being paid up, which meant that the (false) poor payment history still reflected on my credit record. I then had to call, email, follow up, until eventually they said it had been corrected. I requested proof from them from each credit bureau that they had in fact removed it. Weeks later (again being ignored) I still didn't have all the reference numbers. I then pulled a credit report online and behold, Vericred still showed a Cell C account, not even paid up, but as outstanding. I have again emailed (calling doesn't help as no-one at the call centre can help you) and I received bounce-back auto emails that the email addresses (of the same people I previously dealt with) didn't exist anymore. I am shocked that until today I am bearing the brunt of fixing the mess caused SOLELY by Cell C, and they still have the audacity to ignore me.
