Limited signal and Account frustrations

Over October and November, I logged 12 calls with Cell C to address a persistent bad signal issue. A previous negative experience involved trying to change my address. I repeatedly failed their secret questions, and after two failed attempts, I was forced to call back — a frustrating cycle. Despite clearly stating my refusal to endure this process, agents insisted on making me go through it. Many older customers, including myself, find this system aggravating, especially since their call system makes it difficult to speak to a real person.

After posting a negative review on their Facebook page, I received a call from a third party who followed up with an email. I recognized that this was not an email from Cell C directly and refused to share personal information via email. This created a stalemate, halting progress. Frustrated, I then reached out via LinkedIn to an executive, and surprisingly, I received a human response that led to some progress.

Cancelling my month-to-month agreement (but not the debit order) to a pay as you go as well as removing any airtime I had available sounds like progress. Later, I had to buy airtime just to send an SMS to proceed with a number port, which caused even more hassle, leading to the 12 calls logged. I also received calls from them on my wife's Vodacom number, adding to the chaos.

Sure, Cell C may claim they heard me and issued refunds, but just yesterday, I received a new statement demanding more money. This reflects a ******* system—whether it's the company or its people—that lies about their actions. To them, clients are just tickets in a system designed to maximize profits for a soulless corporation.

Never accept just a refund. Insist on compensation for your lost time, missed opportunities, and the stress they have caused.

P.S. A network team member told me my area has limited and weak signal, with no alternative plans available. Also, Cell C owns no towers and always shares infrastructure with Vodacom and MTN, meaning they can never guarantee good service.

P.P.S. Dear Cell C, please make all your customer responses public. We all want to see how you handle complaints.

Ah, the boilerplate reply intended to placate you into thinking that they will actually do something. There is no way you looked at any or all of those tickets in the time it took to make this reply. Please make all of your replies public.

All the correct words. Daar is 'n ou Afrilkaanse gesegde "Woorde wek, voorbeelde trek". Maybe you want that interpreted/translated. Teh standard replies are so boring.

As a GM you missed the point. On candeling after I suggested it on a call, you effectively removed all airtime as well as the ability to send teh SMS to prot out. Maybe look closely at what I said (not my tone, as I was furious) and also at all of teh sugestions that I proposed to improve things. In the end, that single action was teh most frustrating as I could not port out, leaving me more frustrated until I found out what you actually did. Not sure if it is OK to change a user's contract by phone call and NO follow-up email at all. One item for another day, once I read the law.
