LACK OF COMMUNICATION FROM CELL C

I cannot recall, how loyal and I how long I have been with the Cell C Network, I usually do not encounter problems or issues.

I am however dissapointed in there general lack of communication and empathy.

I took out a package of R29 with Cell C, in which I felt was good value for money - as we all know how expensive Data is in SA. Never the less.... I have been paying the R29. it is unfortunate that I lost my job in March, I then went to the ATM to make a deposit of R40 so that there is sufficient funds available for the debit order to go off. I noted it was long weekend (Easter), I kept checking to see "why hasn't my cell c debit order gone off" I then called Cell c on the 4th or 5th April - enquiring this, I was THEN ONLY INFORMED telephonically that the R29 contract is not in existance or applicable and has now went up to R97, and Cell c tried to debit my account but there was insufficient funds !!!!!! WHAT REALLY UPSETS ME, not a phone call or a sms or email from Cell c informing me of these changes etc. - the only sms I received is that my account is in arrears.

How was I suppose to know that the pricing increased? why is it that no one could call, email or sms me a month prior so that I could make arrangements and deposit the money needed into my account in order for this debit order to be successful.

WORST OF ALL, my account is now blocked, when I tried calling the 084 143 number it is not allowed - as I want to cancel this contract. I am still dissapointed as I was under the impression my account is R29, Cell C failed to inform me of the price changes or increase, no authority was given to debit for that amount - It is not about the rand value it is the principle in the matter.

I am unemployed at this point, trying to apply for work etc but with a blocked phone is very difficult.

I still want to know why I was never informed of this prior? it is the same way Cell c expects their clients to communicate should a debit order date changed, or they want to cancel a contract etc! If i had not called Cell c I would never have known.

My point is, if I pay the R97 which I do not think is fair or that I am liable for, As nothing was informed to me in writing/ verbally - who gives Cell C the right to go and CONTINUOUSLY try and debit my account, knowing (after my telephonic call there isn't funds as I am not working and only deposited R40 to keep my account in the positive) who is going to pay my bank fees?

WHAT IS THE POINT OF CALLING CELL C and then the agents do not update the system ????? yet the calls are recorded... I honestly do not see the point in this.

What if I had a job, and the R97 was successfully debited and I did not pick it up - this means they would of debited the amount every month, don't i have a right to know there is a increase ? Isn't there a company policy in place in which you inform your clients and confirm there affordability and if the client will give you go ahead ?

I am very hesitant on what to do in a case like this, as mentioned, i have a budget I would like to know where my expenses go.
