Just want a little help please...

ACCOUNT NUMBER (please see Ref #) – UNRESOLVED BILLING ISSUES

I have been trying to, and waiting for some time now, to resolve a query about my account with Cell. So far, without success.

I selected Cell C from a list of many service providers, paid my deposit upfront, as invoiced, and then waited to start enjoying my 20/2 fibre connection. The connection works well, the accounting and help desk departments, apparently not so well. Please read on.

Cell C installed my modem about 3 Dec 2018 i.e. I was “connected” and could use the internet from this date. I then received 2 separate invoices with two separate account number viz. ********** 82 and ********** 07 (both account numbers in my name). The latter account number ( ********** 07) reflected my monthly package premium (R856.00) and also reflected an amount due of R28.53, this amount shown as 30 days in arrears.

I queried this amount (R28.53) with Cell C and provided them with all supporting documentation etc., which wasn’t a lot – I only got connected 3 Dec - , but so far Cell C has not resolved my query.

In a nutshell, I maintain that the R28.53 (shown as 30d in arrears) is not a credit due to Cell C. I paid my full premium upfront (R856.00 as invoiced) but was only connected “after” the beginning of the month (on 3 Dec). Because the billing cycle runs from the beginning of the month to the end of month, I should be credited with the appropriate amount, which so far has not been reflected on my account, because I was only connected on 3 Dec 2018 not 1 Dec 2018.

I can see that the R28.53 is my premium (R856.00) divided by 30 days consequently I feel that I should have a “discount” of either 2 or 3 days against my account (R57.07 or R85.60), for a 3 Dec 2018 connection date. Or am I missing something.

Please can someone at Cell C give me their urgent attention about this so that this issue does not drag on and on and become a major issue.

Regards Bernice Ho
