ITC number issue
My bag was recently ******, and inside it was my old tablet containing my Cell C SIM card, which I have had since 2017. When I reported the incident to the police, they provided me with a form and advised that I needed to obtain an ITC number in order to proceed with the report.
I then went to a Cell C store to request assistance with blocking my number and device and obtaining the ITC number. Unfortunately, they informed me that they were unable to assist because I had allegedly failed the security verification process, despite the fact that I answered their questions correctly.
As a result, I left the store without the required ITC number, which the police have requested. My line was previously on contract, but I converted it to prepaid last month. I was told that because I had not purchased airtime or made calls in the past few weeks, they do not have recent activity records for the line. I explained that this has always been my secondary line and that I have had it since 2017. While they were able to confirm the date when the line was registered, they still indicated that they could not provide me with the ITC number.
At this stage, I am extremely disappointed with the lack of assistance I have received. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Cell C to others.
