Iphone 7 plus not water resistant.
I bought an Iphone 7plus at CellC Cresta Mall in April on the 25th, the sales consultant informed me more about the phone being water resistant Please see link for more info on water resistance https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT207043
On the 26th of December around 12h00 pm i had an incident with the phone were it fell into a puddle of water, after opening the house door immediately i put the phone in a bag of rice but the home button was stuck. i tried charging it and it immediately switched on and off while the screen was flickering, i left my phone on the charger but it kept on losing power then it eventually switched off.
I then took it to CellC to report about this issue were i was sent from pillar to post, i am not a technical person i was told that my phone was water resistant its not like i went intentionally bathing with it. So i then took it to istore the booked it in, i received a call lady saying that i must pay R16 950 for repairs
I am very disappointed at the level of service i received from CellC month end i get debited as per norm for the last 4 years and have never missed a single payment but could not get help with regards to a device that is supposed to be waterproof meaning it should be able to work if water has splashed on it. Cell C is lying to its customers by selling things that are not true
