Invasion of privacy

<p>I got a call from a lady today explaining that my number has been exclusively selected by CellC for a special offer. She knew my name, surname, cellphone number and office number. She claimed to know that I use more than a R150 airtime per month (from vodacom) and therefore qualify for this special offer at Cell C. </p> <p>When I asked where she got my details I was told that the "system" uses an auto dialer and a data base. Now my problem is that I never gave permission to Cell C to contact me with any promotions so I am not supposed to be in any of there databases. I asked the lady to escalate my concern to a manager to explain how I got onto there database, and was then told that CellC purchased this database from a third party.</p> <p>She could not tell me who this third party is.</p> <p>Surely I should be allowed to know who is selling my personal information and be upset with the fact that CellC is (in my opinion) obtaining personal info *******ly. </p>
