Incorrect information

I've been in contact with Cell c for a settlement amount on my contract, the amount was received and payed, I then was advised the account will be closed, Yesterday I received a new statement indicating that my account needs a payment of R1225, I then once again contacted the call center to get clarification to my surprise the amount paid went towards the March payment and not the settlement amount,
