We have lodged a complaint with Cell C months ago regarding incorrect charges on our bill. This has been happening since the start of our upgrade. Each month the bill rises by a few hundred rands and up till today we are still waiting on a resolution, but still no feedback from cell c. This morning our account was debited for R1742.01, previous month R1648.61 and the month before R1246.09. As you can see the amount increases which is ridiculous.

When taken out the contracts we were under the impression that it would just be for the contract amounts. We were not told nor explained about open lines. When questioning the above we were told that we need to put a cap on the 2 open lines but were still charged ridiculously months later. A consultant advised that we need to phone in each month to cap it, which we think is silly, why can't it be done automatically on their system. However, we phoned in each month but alas, still wasn't capped.

Keep in mind that we keeping just enough money in the account for the debit order, but each month it's not enough and is being charged for late payments of 60 odd rands which add up every month. We were told that it is because of data that are being purchased and I can assure you that we are each month without data after the 150 megs for number 0848....... and 100 megs for 060...... that we receive from cell c for the 2 "open lines". We can't purchase any extra data on the phone as we receive error messages stating that we have reached our monthly limit and should call 140. We have even done a test last month with one of the consultants, keeping her on the line when attempting to purchase extra data. And as explained the message states that the data has gone through, but seconds later you receive another message saying that the action could not be processed.

When checking the statement this morning, 1 Aug 2017 the number 0848..... has been rectified after the complaint was lodged again last month, for the umpteenth time, but now it seems that all charges are now forwarded onto our sons number 060...... and this number also can't purchase any data, we have done the above test at home as well to see if it is the same case, and he received the same message saying that it has gone through, but once again, a few seconds later saying that it could not be processed. I myself, do not have the need for data as we have uncapped data at work, so I use the wifi, but still ridiculous charges were charged.

I also see that we are not the only ones complaining about this issue, I have been on to Hello Peter and see that there are others complaining about the same issue.Last month we were even told by the consultant that the one line is not in use, so how can you be charged for something that is not being used? They obviously do not know what they doing and would suggest that you request all the calls from us to Cell C, as you would hear that we attempted on numerous occasions to sort this out, but alas, no resolution. We also have recurring Whatsapp bundles and I have double checked on our online account if it is activated, which it is. But my son's whatsapp depletes and he has to purchase a whatsapp bundle from his vodacom sim card, so we are being charged for a full month of Whatsapp but it doesn't last him into the next month. If nothing will be done regarding this or if we do not get reimbursed, I will take further steps and forward my complaint to NCCSA
