Incompetence of Cell C agents

I received a phone call from a Cell C agent on 3 November 2023. The agent informed me that my contract was due for an upgrade and we proceeded to upgrade my contract on the telephone. I agreed to a 50Gig Data Package for R199.00 per month. He offered me a free 5G sim card with this offer. However, when the Sim card arrived, I realized that the sales agent issued a new contract instead of upgrading my existing contract. To make matters worse he was trying to Port my existing contract number through a different service provider without my consent. After numerous visits to the Cell C branch in Wonderpark. I eventually got it cancelled through Customer service as they couldn’t help me instore. The problem came that at the end of November 2023 I was now being charged an Out of Contract Rate of R698.95. I immediately disputed this as I upgraded the contract on 3 November 2023. Cell C then suspended their service but kept billing me. The problem is that I agreed to an upgrade and the Cell C agent didn’t process this. They are unwilling to do the upgrade now, unless I pay the outstanding fees. These fees keep amounting and by end of February 2024 a debit order of R 3028.83 was processed which resulted in my medical aid being returned. This has now been the second time that my Medical aid has been returned due to Cell C’s Debit order. I am currently busy with Cancer treatment, I cannot afford for my medical aid to stop paying for my treatments especially not for a Service provider who doesn’t even deliver a service to me. Cell C agents phone me on a daily basis and just today I received two phone calls, however no resolution comes from these calls, expect further frustration. I need Cell C to sort out this problem immediately.

The agreed to contract on 3 November 2023 was for R199.00 per month and I expect Cell C to honor this and to write off all Months that my service was suspended.
