Impossible to cancel Cell C Get More

At the beginning of last year, I got called by an agent offering a service called Get More by Cell C. It sounded quite good, so when they said, "Can we sign you up for this service?", I said, "Sure". That was my mistake. I can't comment on the usability of the actual service because I have never used it. It is just not a service that actually comes to use for me in my life. However, I did not despair, because I was assured when I signed up, that I could cancel AT ANY TIME (remember this part because it is important). So anyway, I eventually called the Get More call centre for the first time at the end of July. Told them I would like to cancel. They told me no problem, but a 30 day waiting period applies and someone else would have to phone me to confirm the cancellation. I said sure. No problem. So I waited about 2 weeks, did not get a phone call, so I phoned back to make sure they did not forget about me, not wanting to get debited unnecessarily. Because I'm sure as we all know, this is a very predictable story in line with bad service in general. When I called back, I was assured that they were on it, and the query would be escalated to make sure I get called. I felt reassured at the time but then another 2 weeks passed. It was now close to the end of August and I did not want to start the month of September still with the service that I had cancelled because that would mean ANOTHER charge. So I phoned them back. I was then told that I would only get called AFTER the 30 day period is over. What is the point of specifying a 30 day waiting period when in actual fact, the waiting period is infinite because it could take place 1 day after 30 days and it could take place 8 years after 30 days? All the while me getting debited for something I do not want and have never used. Sounds suspiciously **** like. Also, it is now the end of September and I still have not been called and therefore am still a member of Cell C Get More. If you are considering joining this service, don't do it unless you do not plan on cancelling it ever.
