Impossible to cancel

I have come to learn that it is near impossible to have an existing contract cancelled. I phoned in during December 2017 to cancel the contract, but apparently you as client may not give notice of cancelation too early, even if you are prepared to honour the full term, you simply may not give more than the required notice.

I was subsequently phoned by the retention department to renew my contract. This person could not assist me in cancelling the contract. I duly phoned 084 145 as per this person’s advice. I was taken through an entire process of inputting the relevant number and holding just to be asked again what the number is. I was asked again why I wanted to cancel, the relevance of which remains a mystery. This person then confirmed that he would put me through to the cancellation department and proceeded to hang up. I subsequently phoned the cancellation department at 084 143. I had to hold for in excess of 7 minutes. I subsequently phoned in again but instead opted for the upgrade option, where my call was taken much, much quicker. Again this person could not assists and proceeded to hang up.

I need to cancel my contract.
