I have been officially reduced to tears by CELL C!!

My list of complaints with Cell C is endless and I have brought many of them to this forum with little Joy.

Now the time has come for me to CANCEL this ********** contract once and for all and I just spent a painful 42 minutes dealing with Siziwe (Female) who was trying to be professional but had very limited knowledge and we kept going around in circles. this is 42 minutes of MY airtime and not cell C. Worst still when i asked for her manager, she put me on hold again for minutes!

When I first called in January to cancel this then, I was told I would have to pay in for the handset (commitment fee). I was advised that in order not to pay in this amount, I needed to call 30 days prior to the 6th of April when the contract would end.

I then called, on the 4th of March, but found that the payment did not go through as was arranged. At the time, I asked the person I spoke to if that call will be considered as 30 days noticed to which it was confirmed “yes” but I needed to call once again once payment was sorted.

I made the payment on Thursday the 8th via EFT and I called on Friday to cancel but it had no reflected yet.

Someone called me on Saturday to confirm that it had reflected but retentions work Monday to Friday and I should call in Monday.

I called today and had to start explaining from scratch. Also had to answer why my name was MR instead of MRS, something I have mailed and called and have gone into the store for many times amongst other things to fix but no luck.

We eventually got to a mutual understanding, after long periods on hold ansd Siziwe having to speak to her suprtiors only to be told, my sim will be cut by the 14th but not only will have to pay R560 on the 25th of March, I will also be charged pro rata in April.

Note: This I understand , the costs that is, but WHY would you cancel the sim now and I have to pay in there after and have no access to the data or anything but still pay in these 2 amounts? Trying to get this answer was like drawing blood from a tree!

Please may I get feedback and please may I have confirmation that this line will be cancelled on the 6th of April and until then, will be open for me to use the data and minutes on it? I don’t want to pay for free.

ACC # ********** 85

Cell C number **********

I got a call from a gentleman called Mpho. If only my dealings with Cell C overall were this pleasurable. I received the SMS to confirm that the contract will be cancelled on the 6th and he had a great suggestion on how to save me some money. I explained once, and he got it!
This I appreciated very much as the initial call really dumpend my day.
