********** Service and Exorbitant Charges

At the beginning of April, Cell C offered me a month-month data contract for 10GB anytime data and 10GB night surfer for R129. This was a great deal, obviously and I took it. I specifically asked the agent who assisted me, to cap the out of bundle rate at R0.00. Which means I wanted the data services to disconnect once the data has been used up as I did not want to incur any additional charges because I know that out of bundle rates are ridiculously expensive and I cannot afford that. I got the sim and received a pro-rated data for the month of April. Cell C then debited my account for an amount of R268.74, I was shocked because I was expecting to be charged for the pro-rated data. I called and I was told they were "testing my account", IS THAT EVEN ALLOWED??? Ok I let that slide because I figured it would write off about two months of premiums.

When I checked my balance in mid April, I realized that my data was depleted and I had a balance of around R500. HOW?? When I SPECIFICALLY ASKED THE AGENT TO CAP THE LINE AT R0.00?? I called them on the 23rd of April and they "escalated" a case with number ********** 04 and advised that a representative would call me within 2 business days AND that my account was not capped at R0.00 as I requested. I did not get the call as promised, however I gave them more time. Last week, I called them back AGAIN and the agent told me that their back office staff was unavailable - due to a strike and the case still hasn't been attended to and again I will get a call - STILL NOTHING!. Yesterday I received my statement showing an amount of R817.95 - again, HOW?? WHEN I SPECIFICALLY ASKED THAT THE LINE BE CAPPED AT R0.00? So I call Cell C again today and I am told that the case is still in process and nothing has been done about it, feedback is that I would get a call today or tomorrow. given what has happened since the 23rd of April, I highly doubt that I will get that call.

I need to make it clear that I will NOT be paying this amount as I am only liable for the R129 which I took up AND Given that "Your calls are recorded" please go through your calls from when I took up the data line and write this amount off as this is a fault on your side.

I will be logging a formal complaint with ICASA because clearly, only then that my issue will be taken seriously.
