Highly disappointed!
I'm so disappointed in Cell C, actually to say I'm disappointed is an understatement. The customer care consultant answer the phone as if they had just woken up and have a very poor attitude and little to no knowledge of Cell C products. I purchased R200 airtime on the 29th of October and till this day I have been unable to use the recharge voucher. The first time I recharged the voucher it gave me an error message and when I called the customer care number the "sleepy" consultant told me that Cell C had blocked some recharge vouchers but that I shouldn't worry because they are busy fixing the problem and that I should be able to recharge later. When I tried recharging later that day I kept getting the same error message. When I called the customer service center and spoke to "rude Thabo" he told me that I had done something to block the voucher and that I should wait until the next day to try again. As I was trying to explain what the previous consultant had said "rude Thabo" was having non of it and told me that it was my fault and that he cant help me and that I should try using the voucher again the next day. To cut a long story short every time I tried recharging I kept getting an error message and a different customer service consultant telling me their version of why I couldn't recharge and that I must attempt recharging after some hours. I luckily eventually spoke to someone who said that the problem could only be resolved by the merchant that sold me the recharge voucher and in this case it was Clicks. I went to Clicks and they did their best to resolve the issue even contacting me to update me on the status. Now Clicks tells me that the problem has been handed over to Cell C and they need to verify if the voucher has not been used and I also Cell C will need 5 working days to fix the problem with the voucher. This is my monthly recharge voucher that I buy. Now I don't know about many people out there but I don't have the luxury of spending R200 on a airtime recharge voucher and if it doesn't work I just buy another. I am being inconvenienced with the lengthy waiting period because of a problem I clearly didn't cause. And what am I supposed to do in the meantime? Buy another recharge voucher with money I don't have and possibly face the same problem? Or should I buy a recharge voucher for another network? If customers miss a monthly payment of their Cell C contract then it immediately incures interest but Cell C is allowed to inconvenience customers because their product was already paid for. I must wait without even being given an alternative option while people figure out what to do with a "damaged recharge voucher" that they can easily trace if its been used while I wait and figure out other means to make calls. This is no way to treat customers and your call centre agents should be taught that if they are not sure about how to resolve a problem they should transfer the call to someone who knows. My time is wasted for nothing and by the looks of things my money might not be coming back, not even as a airtime voucher.
