Hidden costs

I recently upgraded my contract which at first I did not want to due to the run around I got from the store I went to. They told me that I only qualified for a R250 per month contract, when I had been contacted by Cell c who informed me that I could upgrade to an S10 which is substantially more than R250. I spoke with Sean in retentions who convinced me to upgrade to a Huawei P30 lite as I wanted to spend less on my monthly cell payments. Now nothing against Sean himself, I get it, he is selling something and you have to convince people to do that, which he did by offering the p30 which would be less than a Samsung. My problem with this whole situation is that I was told the pinnacle 1GB would be R429 per month plus the little extras like itemised billing and insurance, we got to an amount of about R700 which I was happy with cause it was about half of my previous payments. After receiving my latest statements, I know see that the pinnacle amount is R689 to which I then contacted Cell c. The lady I spoke with told me that there is an additional R200 included in that for the device. So this has now taken my monthly payment to over R900. Like most of us, I work on a budget and I worked that out on about R700, not R900, where must I now magically find another R200! The point of all of this is that I feel like I was misinformed as is the case with other cell c reviews I have seen on this site. This has now given me the impression that cell c are con artists with these little hidden costs. I honestly feel like I've been taken for a ride which I must now pay for, for the next 24 months! I've essentially been ****** of almost R5000 if I total this up over the next 2 years. I will never again sign up a contract with Cell c! At this point I don't even want this phone, I would rather live without it than have to now pay for something which was not was initially agreed upon. *******!

Received a call from Maropeng who was very helpful and explained to me that the additional R200 was for my old phone which was still being paid off. I would suggest in future that the statements clarify charges with a bit more clarity so as to avoid these issues in the future. Not all of us work for cell phone companies and understand what every charge is actually for. But otherwise all is sorted now, like I said he was very helpful and friendly and I feel better about having my contract with them now. Thank you.
