Has Cell C Decided to Surrender?

Cell C's network in my area of residence (Linmeyer - Joburg South) has never been the most robust, and the recent bout of load-shedding appears to have ****** them of any inclination to attend to problems.

It seems their local base station/mast has no form of backup electricity, so we've become accustomed to zero network connectivity during power outages. A week or so ago, the data network began to perform erratically: mostly wheezing along at H or H+ speeds; often disappearing entirely; and occasionally spiking up to 4G for a few minutes.

I logged a call last weekend, but nothing seems to have changed.

This morning I logged another support call and followed up just a few minutes ago, only to be informed that the query was still open. My calls were dropped twice while trying to retrieve the update, which leads me to believe that the voice network is also unstable.

Your rates may be good, Cell C, but you're forcing me to spend money with MTN.
