GOB SMACKED over reclaimed number - POPIA ACT in breach

I am GOB SMACKED! I have been fighting with Cell C since June last year over a corporate account that was terminated when the company was closed. I have emailed and called back and forth desperately trying to get someone with brain power to acknowledge what i have been trying to explain. I emailed a cancellation and asked for all three numbers on the corporate account to be transferred to prepaid. Months went by, no replies, invoices stopped being received, money was not being debited from the account. But everytime i tried to top up or use the numbers, they did not make calls and did not receive calls. I have been trying to resolve this for almost 18 months. Cell C insists i owe them R12 000 for a contract that was not active or working with no air time or call being received since June 2024. How can you expect me to pay for services that were not provided. It i had made the calls and utelized R12 000 worth of call, by all means you can expect the money from me, but I was not able to make or receive calls.!!! 2 of the 3 numbers were made prepaid and the primary, most important number was hung onto by Cell C - spitefully! On Friday 3 October 2025, i wake up to find my business whatsapp account has been wiped with no warning. I went into the cell c store and they said the number has been recycled and already given to someone else! HOW??? This is my lively hood. All my agents message me, place orders and send proof of payments via this number on whatsapp. now all this information is lost on my phone and is available to someone else... POPIA ACT!!! This person has access to my agents messaging them believing they are messaging me! Whatsapp history, orders, disputes, prizes and marketing all GONE because the number was recycled and if this person decides to upload chat back up, they will most likely have access to all my chat history, despite my ongoing dispute with Cell C and the dozens of emails requesting and begging them to transfer the number to prepaid! I DEMAND THIS NUMBER BE RETURNED TO ME IMMEDIATELY - failing which I will lay a legal case against CELL C for leaking privelleged, confidential business contacts and info to a complete stranger! There is no room for negotiate, you transferred 2 of the 3 numbers willing to prepaid, WHY did you not do as you were instructed in all the emails and transfer the 3rd and most important number. HOW can you so quikcly and easily recycle a business number? This number is advertised all over, website, facebook, instagram, google, flyers, brochures and more. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!
