Frustrating Billing Issues
I am writing to express my extreme frustration and disappointment with the ongoing billing issues I have experienced with Cell C.
On 27 March 2024, I received an email from Cell C introducing a new customer portal for managing my account, including changing banking details. I used this portal to switch my payment method from my Nedbank account to my FNB account.
However, on 25 April 2024, both accounts were debited for my Cell C bill. I reversed the Nedbank payment to avoid double payment. Since then, I have been bombarded with emails from Cell C Collections claiming non-payment, despite the FNB payment being successful.
When I contacted Cell C, I was informed that my account is on an "old system" while the new portal operates on a "new system." This lack of system integration is not my responsibility, especially when the new portal was presented as a fully functional solution.
While a Cell C representative assisted in crediting my account with the FNB payment, my fibre service was temporarily deactivated due to the alleged non-payment. I continue to receive collection emails, and I am deeply concerned about what will happen when my next payment is due.
I demand that Cell C immediately resolve the following:
Cease all collection communications: Stop sending me emails and messages regarding non-payment, as I have paid my bills. Correct my account status: Ensure my account reflects that all payments have been made and that I am not in arrears. Resolve system discrepancies: Fix the issues between the old and new systems to prevent further billing errors. Confirm my FNB account as the sole payment method: Ensure that future debits are made exclusively from my FNB account.
I expect a prompt resolution to this matter. Failure to address these issues adequately will leave me no choice but to escalate this complaint to Jorge Mendes.
