Frustrated Pensioner

Contract no. *** - Mrs Jacqueline Anne Lester I am a highly frustrated pensioner . My contract expired end Feb 2024. Beginning April my phone was blocked. I went into a Cell C shop and was told i need to pay R400 to unblock, i paid the R400 in 2 instalments. I then asked the guy to please change my phone to pay as you go , he said he cant as there was a R200.00 outstanding. Its now June my phone is still blocked. I have been in correspondence with Cell since 01 April to cancel this contract and go on Pay As You Go , today i am told I am owing R1500.00 . Can somebody tell me what for as my contract ended Feb already. I just want this matter sorted out . I do not want to speak to another Agent because they just cant resolve my query. I need to speak to somebody that will unblock my phone.

We understand your frustration and want to ensure that your concerns are addressed.

Upon reviewing your account, we can confirm that you were contacted and during the conversation, our representative advised you of the outstanding balance on your contracts and explained that services were still being rendered in the form of data and minutes, as indicated by the SMS notifications you received.

It was also communicated to you that according to the terms and conditions of the contracts, cancellation needs to be formally requested; otherwise, the contracts continue on a month-to-month basis. It was confirmed with you that cancellation could not be processed in April due to the outstanding balance on your account.
You expressed your decision not to pay the outstanding amount and indicated your intention to purchase a prepaid number instead.
Please be advised that failure to settle the outstanding balance may result in further actions, including being handed over to debt collectors.
