<p>I have a Cell C contract for my daughter's phone. Every month she uses 200meg of data or less as per her contract. Suddenly in January I get a bill for R588. When I query it I was told it was data purchased from her phone and gifted to another number, no way to know which number. We had not purchased the data and don't even know how to gift data. They said they could only help me by limiting the contract which would prevent further purchases. The limit is meant to be R170. I received an account for R788 this month. Cell's excuse is it was data purchased prior to putting the limit in place. No assistance is forthcoming.</p>

Cell C did respond. Basically as I can't prove beyond doubt that I didn't purchase the data, they can't help me. They also can't guarantee that it won't happen again, so I have no option but to cancel the contract. Fortunately it is paid up.
