********** contract

My contract with Cell C expired more than a year ago and since then I was on a month to month no obligation plan which meant that I could cancel anytime. After receiving the worst service ever I decided to take my business elsewhere and port the number to another company. That was when I learned that Cell C decided to end all month to month plans and convert them to 24 month contracts and they expect me to pay over R1800 in cancellation fees for a R299 plan. I took it up in store with the lady who handles my business and she acknowledged in front of the manager that she never offered nor did I agree to a contract. Then they referred to me customer care. I took it up with customer care and they referred me back in store. There is no signed contract, no telephonic recording or anything proving that I agreed to a contract and still I am not helped. I am beyond frustrated and wonder how many other customers have fallen victim to this ********** activity. So if you are on a month to month plan go and have a look at your status, chances are you have also been entered into a contract with Cell C without your knowledge or consent.
