*****ULANT ACTION BY CELL C

I bought R35 of airtime from Cell C – South Africa on 17 Feb 2017. I received a message on my phone that I have received another R35 worth of free minutes to another Cell C phone expiring 20 Feb 2017. When I wanted to make a phone call during the morning on 20 of Feb 2017, no free minutes were available. I phoned their customer services and the agent was not very helpful and would not listen to my actual complaint and put the phone down in my ear. I phoned again and was cut off twice before I got through again. This time I spoke to a supervisor and I asked him how long are the free airtime to be valid for to which he answered “three days”. I explained to him that when I received a message that stated that the free minutes expired on 20 Feb 2017, that I expected it to expire at midnight on 20 Feb 2017 as that would be three days since I bought the airtime. He said it expired on 19 Feb 2017 at midnight. When I bought the airtime on 17 Feb 2017 at plus minus 17h00 it should theoretically allow me 72 hours free airtime to be valid up to 17h00 on 20 Feb 2017 and not expiring at midnight on 19 Feb 2017. This action of them can be viewed as ********** and disgusting and needs to be sorted out as soon as possible as many clients are losing money by Cell C not sticking to their own rules.

You bought your airtime on the the 17th and your first midnight was on the 17th, second midnight 18th and last midnight on the 19th, so the 20th will count as the fourth midnight.

We have requested one of our consultants to contact you and provide clarity regarding this matter.
