During December 2012, I signed up for a 1Gb data contract with Cell C. The contract was signed up telephonically. The contract expired December 2014 but I decided to continue with the contract. When the December debit order went off, it amounted to over R1200.00. The debit orders increased in January, February and March 2015. I was awaiting the postal statements but nothing was received until I gained access to it online. Cell C opened up another contract under my name- identity theft. The secondary contract incurred over R1500.00 of charges monthly. To date, I have paid over R6500.00 towards a contract I have not had. The contract was put on hold eventually. When a ***** case was opened eventually with Cell C, I was assured I would get this sorted shortly. Full repayment will be made. How can Cell C approve another contract under my name without my consent? It has been almost two months since the case has been opened and I have not received a word!!! This can certainly turn out into a nasty legal battle. I urge Cell C to sort this matter within the next two weeks to avoid legal battle. As a consumer, my rights have been violated.
