Cell C
I moved to Cell C in 2011.
In May 2018 I noticed additional charges for content services on one of my three accounts. I immediately phoned Cell C questioning the additional costs. They said they will stop the service and refund me. The next month I noticed another line item on my invoice for content services. Again I questioned this with refund on the previous month and no answer what this is for. This continued for months. No refund, and charged every month without a explanation what it is for. Eventually Cell C said its not them charging me but a 3rd party and I need to speak to them. I refused because it was Cell C Invoicing me for this and took my money. I asked for proof where I authorised Cell C to do this and also where I requested this from their 3rd party service provider.
Feedback from Cell C was extremely slow. Months went by. Eventually they send me a document, very basic stating my number, a unknown service and a activation date which was June 2018. This was suspicious because the document was not a legal document and the activation date on the document was June while they started charging me in May. With a history of ***** from Cell C back in 2012 this became more suspicious. I questioned this and once again Cell C said I should take it up with the 3rd party.
Emails went back and forth but no solution from Cell C. No proof where I authorised Cell C to provide 3rd party services and also no legal proof from their 3rd party service provider. I noticed a similar charge on my WiFi package with, Cell C and questioned this as well. Again feedback was slow or almost non existing.
I discovered a online page where content service was discussed and all networks including Cell C comp**** with a double opt out option where the service provider need to send the client a message and the client need to agree to 3rd party services. This was not done.
Due to lack of feedback, proof, solutions or interest from Cell C I could not continue to use them as a service provider. My 3 contacts expired and I did not renew them.
I received the final invoices for my 3 accounts in Oct 2018 and paid all three in full. This included content services. I did question this afterwards and asked for a refund. Cell C mailed me about a outstanding amount. I forwarded them their final invoices they sent to me and the proof of payment.
Again they mailed me informing me about a outstanding amount. I asked them in several mails to send me a invoice but never received anything other than mails asking for money. Again ********** behaviour. I also requested proof for the double opt out, the proof where I authorised Cell C to add 3rd party services and also proof where I authorised the content services.
After several mails requesting refunds or proof as per the above requested Cell C started ignoring my mails.
They do however send me sms's about outstanding amounts threatening me with legal action which I questioned again in mail with no reply to date.
