Flawed system is just beyond pathetic..
I closed and paid off two of my Cell C voice contracts at the end of February this year. The debit order for the one contract bounced (which Cell C didn't bother to notify me about) and as a result the late payment of that single debit cost me a negative credit score as well as a failed attempt at taking out a new contract with Vodacom. I called customer service this morning to find out if I could get a paid up letter for the accounts as it was a requirement to open a new contract with Vodacom. Customer service then referred me to the legal department and I could not get through. I then went to the Cell C Menlyn branch to ask for a paid up letter and they had to go through the same procedure to obtain a paid up letter. After two lengthy phone calls to customer care and the legal department the sales rep at the branch could also not get a hold of a paid up letter (or anything of the sort) as the legal department says that once a number has been ported to another network they cannot pull up the history on that contract , so basically I never had 2 voice contracts with Cell C. I now only have the negative credit score to show that I ever had anything with Cell C.
