Feedback on the Cell-C 50GB deal.

Cell-C admitted very quickly that they cancelled their agreement with MTN to utilise MTN cell towers in certain areas. This was a decision made by Cell-C without taking their customers into consideration. However, one never knows when the truth is told by businesses. Remember, businesses' sole focus are to make money regardless. Therefore, my believe is that the 50GB deal at R359 was a headache for Cell-C since all other ISP providers asked much more for 50GB. Hence, my hunch tends more towards Cell-C wanting to terminate my contract for the 50GB deal to push me towards a different and much more expensive deal. Obviously I had to opt for cancellation of the contract. These ISP companies do not care about their customers and manipulates every customer, good or bad, to dance to their tunes even if it is blatant and ******** actions from the ISP such as bridge of contract. Then keep quiet and let the customer pay for many more months while leading the client on in telling lie after lie and having the client drive from one cell-c shop to the next spending a lot of time and money on something that will never produce any solution. Then they forced me to give back the router before terminating the contract. It is like buying a car, paying monthly for it. Then after a year the contract is cancelled by the bank or the car dealer with no apparent reason forcing the person to give back the car. Is this the new business bullying practised by Cell-C? Selling good deal contracts to customers just to revoke it after a few months? They probably rely on the financial abilities of their clients not to be able to take them to court, and if there is one exceptional client that does take them to court, I am 100% sure that they will weal and deal to settle out of court before their real colours are exposed in court to prevent setting a precedent for future cases. I am absolutely appalled by Cell-C's behaviour. If the deal with MTN in certain areas were compromised and they made a business decision as was apparently the case, the right thing and noble thing for Cell-C to do would have been to offer the client a same and fair different deal to allow the client to have at least the same service as before. They had the audacity also to hack my devices (4 in total) sabotaging the operation of the devices to prevent me from putting the SIM card into a different device and still be able to make use of the 50GB internet service.

Hi  Willem

Thank you for contacting us.

During the last phase of the roll-out and optimisation of MTN roaming on our network, LTE roaming was enabled for fixed-LTE products.  Some customers would, therefore, have been able to use the product outside Cell C's fixed-LTE coverage area, albeit for a short period of time.  Now that the MTN roaming rollout has been completed, the product is being restored to its original design rules, which state fixed-LTE can only be accessed via Cell C’s LTE network.

Please send us a reference number. We will follow up and advise.

As mentioned in my 2nd reply: "Obviously I had to opt for cancellation of the contract." there was no choice since Cell-C blocked 4 router devices over a 5 month period forcing me to opt for cancellation. No matter what excuse Cell-C comes up with, it will not be acceptable. They kept quiet about the termination of making use of MTN towers for months causing me agony, frustration, petrol and time wasting, thus, causing me unnecessary expenses, while also lying about it for months. However, throughout this time they still collected my R864 per month regardless whether I had a service or not. How can they justify and wash their hands with that? In my books it is clear that Cell-C do not care about some customers and are happy to ****** them as they have done with me. Having so much competition amongst the ISPs (or so we think) one should think that they will be more accommodating and open and honest to customers - or does price and service provision fixing come into play allowing them to not care if they loose good paying customers?
