Failure to provide service

During April 2019, I signed up for a contract with Cell C for the package consisting of 3000 minutes, 100 texts, R600 per month etc.

I already had an existing pre paid cell C number. I needed only the SIM.

After the SIM was delivered, payment took place and the account was activated but the benefits went onto another cell c number which Cell C rica-d by Cell C.

I contacted Cell C and explained that I was already an existing cell c member and I simply needed the benefits from the new number to be transferred to the old number. On 24 April 2019, I spoke to Xola who explained to me that I needed to port the number. He took down my details and promised it would be done within 48 hours.

This did not happen but instead on Saturday 27 April 2019, the new sim was disconnected altogether. I had no access to the data, minutes or text messages. The deduction however went off my account.

On Monday I called customer services again. I was told that Cell C was on strike on that day. No answer could be given to me despite the fact that the 48 hours would have expired on the previous Friday.

On 30 April 2019, I called again. This time I was told that the strike was now over but it would be escalated.

On 2 May 2019, I called again. This time I spoke to Thabang who informed me that I did not need to port the number, but that I needed a number change. This would take place within a reasonable period of time?? He refused to commit to any time. He also could not explain why I was incorrectly advised.

Again nothing happened. On 6 May 2019, I contacted Cell C again. This time I spoke to Phindiwe who advised that someone would call me back by the end of the day.

This never happened.

Today, 7 May 2019, I contacted Cell C again and spoke to Phindile who now said that I needed to contact the Ports department again.

This is unacceptable service. Today is already the seventh and all those benefits are lost yet the funds are promptly deducted.

Who should be dealing with this? Its almost two weeks of calling Cell C to sort out the problem. It cant be that difficult.
