Extreme poor service from Cell C
Last year January 2022 my father passed away, he had 2 contracts on his name with Cell C. One for my mother's mobile phone and one for data. We went two the Cell C shop at Oakfields Shopping Centre and they confirmed that we can transfer these contracts into my name. We have also been told that we cannot cancel the data contract at that stage until everything was moved over to my name. All documents including the death certificate has been submitted and we were told that Cell C will contact me for approval and then change will take place.
It is now a year later, several visits to the shop, multiple calls to Cell C and documents have been submitted multiple times and still no action taken. In the mean time the data contract costing has gone up due to contract expiry and every month the deceased person's bank account is been debited. My mother tried paying these costs up front and even with that she still receives bills for R70 penalty of failed debit order, one for each account.
This is ridiculous to say the least. We are now getting calls from unfriendly staff at Cell C requesting answers when my dad will pay his account. Multiple calls sometimes on a weekly basis and every time we need to state my dad passed away.
I need answers urgently on what is going to happen here. * I want the penalty fee's removed from the account * The data contract and all costs should be cancelled * Mobile contract to be transferred into my name as we tried for the past year or should be cancelled and number given as pay as you go number so i can go to another service provider that is willing to help.
I am really annoyed by the service I am getting from Cell C and need action on this with immediate effect or I will cancel all my other contract with Cell C as well.
