Expired contract cancelled 2ce - charged for 3 years

Just over 3 years ago, I moved to Thailand. I had a USB ****le that had just under a year left on its 2 year contract. I went into a Cell C store to tell them that I would be leaving the country and that the month the contract expired, could they please cancel the contract. I was told that that would be no problem. When I asked if there was anything else I needed to do as I was wrapping up my affairs in SA, I was assured that everything was sorted. I trusted the staff to know the Ts&Cs of their own contracts (as any employee of such a company should) and was very pleased that it was so efficiently organised.

Quite a while after the contract should've expired, while living in Thailand, I noticed that the money was still going off my account when I saw that the money I had left in my account for debit payments was disappearing faster than it should. As I was visiting SA the following month, I decided to sort it out then.

I went into the Greenstone branch, where a young lady told me that she didn't know what to do and handed me over to a young man who also seemed a bit confused and said that they dont know anything about me cancelling and there was no note on my account. He strangely wouldn't show me the screen though. When I asked to speak to the manager, she was terribly rude, typed some things into the computer, seemed to fiddle around on the open screen (my account?) for a few minutes, finally turned it and rudely said: ''See, nothing there.'' I was horribly disappointed, told her to look at the shops video footage from a year ago and they would clearly see I was there with paperwork, which she refused to do. I counted my loses and told her to cancel the account immediately. Now, sorting out finances for my SA account, I have just seen that Cell C is STILL charging me every month. What more can I do? I'm appalled at the disgusting service of not only rude staff, but also being charged for an account that is clearly not being used. Even if I write off the first amount (before flying back and cancelling the second time), I am now owed 15 months of R279. That is just over R4000 also ****** from Cell C.
