Expected to continue payment when retrenched

I was retrenched on the 30th of June 2020! My final retrenchment payment from the company will be the end of July 2020! Which means from August I will unfortunately not have the money to continue paying my current contract! I had a Huawei P20 lite on contract at first with insurance from cell c! Paid the 24 month contract in full without making any claims or even once needing any form of repairs...! So you guys happily got that extra cash for nothing! Now when I contact Cell C on twitter DM... Explaining my situation and ask about what I need to due to claim on insurance for being retrenched, I'm told there's no protection for me with regards to being retrenched! How is that possible?!?? Then what the F### is the insurance for?!?!
