Escalation of *********** staff & Mediocre/Rotten Client Service

I’m utterly frustrated and disgusted at the mediocre/rotten client service I’ve been receiving from Cell C that I cancelled all my contracts with them. Just when I thought that the service couldn’t get any worse, they prove me wrong yet again.

Through months of frustration in trying to resolve an exorbitant data bill, I decided to settle the amount outstanding through monthly payments and cancelling both my data accounts. The nightmare did not end there, as Cell C then handover my account to external attorneys due to “apparent” arrears. This was utter nonsense as my account was paid religiously every month, and proof of payment was sent to Cell C. I received an sms from the attorneys informing me that my account was in arrears and that my rating at the credit bureau has been negatively reflected as a result of this. Cell C also did not contact me via a call, sms or email me informing me of the so called “arrears” yet handed me over. Cell C did not adhere to the NCA which stipulates that a client should be contacted first before their payment details are negatively recorded at a Credit Bureau

I informed the attorneys of the monthly payments and have supp**** them with proof of payments, and cc’ing Cell C Recoveries Department (Tshepo Mokhunoana). A day later the attorneys informed me that the matter has been settled and Tshepo emailed me a “Paid Up” Letter which indicates the following:

“We refer to the above matter and confirm that the above account is fully paid up and has been closed. We further confirm that we have sent a request to the relevant credit bureau to have your payment profile updated”.

Tshepo did not apologise for the error or inconvenience caused to me. I had to personally request this. I also requested a detailed statement reflecting my account with a nil balance, but have not yet received this to date. I’ve also requested details of his Line Manager, but have not received this either from him or the call centre.

Today I received an sms from Cell C informing me that my account is in arrears and that I have 24 hours to make payment or else my line will be suspended, my handset blacklisted and negative rating at the credit bureau!!!! I called the recoveries arrear who confirmed that my account is in arrears after Tshepo has confirmed that the account is settled and closed.

What the hell Cell C!!!! Just how *********** are your staff and internal processes? I would like to escalate the bad service delivery I received from Tshepo and require a detailed explanation from Tshepo’s line manager explaining what went wrong. I also want this matter resolved by tomorrow close of business.
