Duplicate Cell C account on Trans Union
On Trans Union there is two cell c account on my name. One is the current one I am using and correct. The other one does not exist. I asked Trans union about this and they say it's been listed by Cell C. I must get a letter of proof from cell c that there is no such account. The account details show that the account is active at R225 pm and that I am in arrears by R111. It's been there for years apparently and it is making my profile look bad. I tried to apply for finance last week and could not get approval because of this. I then phoned Cell C who told me they can't see anything like this account and I must sort it out with Trans Union and not with them. Went to the Cell C shop and the showed me there is no trace of this account on the system. Now what? Now I am stuck. E-mail Cell C with this problem requesting a letter that confirms I am not in arrears and that this account does not exist and is not active. But as I expected there was no reply on my mail as always with Cell C.
Can you help by getting me such a letter for submission to Trans union? To state clearly that there is no such active account on your system and that it also isn't in arrears for so many years. Or better still, why don't you save me the trouble and sort it out with Trans Union and have it removed since it must have been you who put it there in the first place!
This "ghost' account number is ********** 4. It shows a current balance of R225 and arrears of R111.

I never got it. And the problem continues.
I am in negative on ITC for years now because of Cell C. I needed a confirmation letter urgently. But it never came.

I lost a car I wanted to buy because this account is wrongfully on the itc and the dealer is waiting for a confirmation letter. Please can I just have this very urgent as since I TC will only be updated in 14 days. The dealer just want a proof of thos. Please help just mail a letter saying that account number is not in arrears and not active.

Yesterday a very friendly and helpful lady phoned me in connection with this. She promised to send the confirmation that this account was long since closed. But I did not yet received that email.
And still it shows this account is active and arrears on ITC.
How could this happen in the first place in such renowned and big company like cell c? And if a mistake, which all of us make, why is it so difficult for Cell C to rectify?
